Looking for the above person on the 1841 Census only (I have William and family after that date)
William born 1805 Enniskillen Ireland married his first wife Helen Green, we presume in Wigan, as the following children were all Baptized at St.Mary RC Church Wigan.
Maria 1828 (died Bet 1828/1831
Franciscus 1829
Maria 1831
Catherine 1835.
Thanks Margie.

Please give details of the next census so that we have something to work on.
Have you perused the RC Parish Register for the church, what information did they give as many baptism entries give a father's occupation and sometimes an address.

Re: William Campbell
Mary A,
I do apologize for not giving the Census details for 1851 this is where William is with his second wife Susannah (nee Bonney) I know how important it is for everyone who is helping to be given as much detail as I have.
Ref Piece 2199
Folio 463
100 Millgate Wigan
Occupation Shoemaker.
The Baptism records given to me by a friend as I am unable to travel to Wigan due to ill health.
Thanks Margie

Re: William Campbell
I'm wondering if John Campbell, 1841 and William Campbell, 1851 are occupying the same premises, in both censuses they are living in close proximity to a Tallow Chandler (shop?)
The children's ages are exact, Mary & Catherine, also the child baptised, Franciscus 1829, named after the 1841 wife perhaps.

Re: William Campbell
That entry was the main reason for me asking - I wonder if there was an error on behalf of the enumerator, thinking more so now we know the occupation, but I did notice that the children's details were very coincidentally the same.

Re: William Campbell
Bert & Mary A,
Thank you both,
According to the print out for the Baptisms for the children from St.Mary Wigan, the mother is Helene Green, it would appear then that William married Frances after Helene died, could be wrong, just my thoughts.
