Hi Bert many thanks,
I think albert was a typo when they were reporting on the tug "Albert". I am having trouble finding the marriage of Gertrude Evely Young and a Sidney Bradley, Gertrude being of the same family as Alfred.
Be grateful if you could help.

Sorry John, can't find a marriage yet.

There's 4 births between 1932/38, Birkenhead & Wallasey, Bradley/Young combination, are they connected to your search?

Do you have one of the birth certificates John, especially of one of the older children.

In case she had been married before it might give her former name as well as maiden name.

Hi John,

I think a number of us have checked for a marriage on Free BMD and had no luck so it doesn't appear to be on there:-

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

Do you know if there are any Irish links? Did Sidney work in Belfast? I'm thinking they may have married outside England and Wales. Somewhere that doesn't have indexes online.

Perhaps a possibility, can't say for sure if it's the same Sidney Bradley,
1938 directory,
Sidney Bradley,
47 Pasture Ave, Moreton.
Occupation, Welder,
this address would have been in the Wallasey registration district, the child William, 1938, reg, Wallasey, his trade may have taken him to Harland & Wolff?
