The wrong Ancestry

Post by Barbara B »

Have any other overseas members had problems logging on to Ancestry UK?
Up until now I have always been able to choose UK instead of France. Today I haven't been given the choice and have been directed straight to the French site even though I don't subscribe to it. All I get is an empty page! I contacted Ancestry who say it's not their fault but my server. Any thoughts from the computer buffs out there?
Thanks in advance

That's odd when I tried to go to Ancestry.com it gave me the option to go to either .com or the UK version and then after a few seconds without selecting it went straight to the UK. Then trying it again there was no option it went straight to UK. Even using the "visit our other sites" it was tricky. I tried the Australian version and got an option on the screen selected Australia then pressed search at the top of the page and I was into the Australian version okay. It must be a default setting kicking in and you need to select quickly or try the "visit" option and click search.

Thanks Blue. We finally managed to solve the problem (fingers crossed) by changing the server and deleting the browser history. If you think I sound knowledgeable I'm just quoting here! Sometimes I think computers are too clever for their own good.
