St Paul in the City graves

Post by simone »

Hi :D

Anyone know if the graves to St Pauls at St Pauls square would still be there? I have a burial from 1793, doubtful of any headstone but still curious to know if those buried there are still there.

Thanks

Some where in the back of my mind, I think the headstones were moved, but may have been recorded by Gardner?? so it would be possible to check. I don't know what happened to the remains, though I'm sure some one will.

Ahh thanks Lynne.. think you mean Gibson?

just came across this

http://www.liverpoolhistoryprojects.co. ... ife/MI.htm

His name is William Bainbridge

I would like to think he is still resting peacefully somewhere, especially as I now find 2 of his children appear to buried in the church grounds too :( I am quite fond of him since I read the reference to his 'tender lovinge wife Mary' in his will at the age of 18 (he died at 32) He was an oil painter and maybe a sensitive soul I like to think

I know ... soppy aren't I

MaryA has Gibson's I think?

Thanks Karen , I'll have a look at that , looks good :D

The burials are
William Bainbridge 15/6/1793
Margaret Bainbridge 28/12/1783
Margaret Bainbridge 8/7/1792

There is a john son of Mary 4/1/1799 I am wondering about too ... Abode is Nova Scotia like the others but William would be 6 yrs gone by then

Thank you Mary :D
