Liverpool Irish Buddhist Monk?

Post by Blue70 »

Article here about an Irish man who was a Buddhist monk in Burma. I wonder if he was the Lawrence Carroll on Ancestry's Liverpool crew lists c1884-90 born in Dublin in 1853. There are two possible baptisms that year on Irish Genealogy ie he looks and sounds like a Liverpool based seaman or docker:-

The people doing the research are thinking that an 1856 baptism at Booterstown County Dublin on the Roots Ireland website is him. There is a reference by an Irish journalist who met him saying he came from Booterstown. The crew lists are not him but he was supposed to have been in Liverpool as a young man.
