Visited this lovely Field of Remembrance this week, which was where I had requested my cross to be placed. What a beautiful peaceful place to visit and we were lucky as the sun was shining.
My granddaughter was also visiting Ypres on a school trip and took part in the Poppy Parade through the Menin Gate, looking forward to hearing all about it on her return.
My daughter also presented her assembly at school this week with a slide show of her recent trip to Ypres visiting the battlefields and also my great uncles grave at Croonaert and reading some of his letters which he had sent to my grandmother from the trenches.
This has been a very poignant year for us all, along with the many millions of others in this country who have been remembering.

Well done for making this memory of your Great Uncle, what a lovely Field of Remembrance, Royal Wootton Bassett always did do our heroes proud.
Well done also to your daughter and grand-daughter, they are growing up sharing their respect with their friends.
