Hi
As I have had so much help from you in the past I thought you may know the answer to this query. I have been searching for my gggrandmothers death and burial for some time. I know she died before 1889 as her younger children were placed in the Workhouse. I have found 2 possible records in Ford Burial Register but the address column is blank. Are the records on line the only ones or is there another book that would give the address.

The only records online are the Burial Registers, the Grave Registers may give an address, but it may be doubtful as that cross reference (on microfiche) is probably taken from the Burials.
Give the details of the two and if I have time tomorrow I might be able to check - no promises as I have a list already.

These are both public graves I have two burials from about this time although the online records don't give a section my alphabetical list for an entire surname has the section as SV.
Hi Blue
Thank you for your reply. I know from the family I have found they were all in public graves. Its trying to find the right Mary Walsh (sometimes Welsh) as there are so many of them. To my knowledge Mary had her last child in 1885 and the four youngest children were put in the Workhouse late 1889 by one of the older children. The record is noted as "parents dead". I know they spent most of their lives in Wright Street / Kew Street / Dryden Street. This is the time scale I have worked to but who knows they could have just left the family.

The area is SV, which appears as has been said to be General. The Mary Walsh in 1936 simply gives the information you have with the address part being NONE. The fiche for entry 2516 is sadly missing but I would suspect it says the same.

I've got two complete surname lists (Holland and Brady) for Ford Cemetery/Yew Tree/Ainsdale so if anyone has a grave number without a section letter or letters I can look for a burial around that time and see what section they were using for public grave burials.
Thank you MaryA for taking the trouble to look at the fiches - you are a STAR. Many thanks also to you Blue70 for your help. I have found the GRO references for the two burials so I am going to toss a coin to see which one I send for.

Is there no way you could guess who would have registered the death, or where they lived, and ask for it to be a criteria on the certificate.

Thank you Tina for trying - very kind of you indeed.
MaryA I cannot begin to make a guess. They had 12 children the first in 1867 through to 1885. The informant could have been any of the 4 elder children or even the father as I only have a possible death for him before 1889 when the 4 youngest were put in the Workhouse, supplied by our Katie some time ago. Thank you once again for your help.
Apologies for delay in replying as I have been helping my young neighbour celebrate her 90th birthday

Hi Simone
Thank you for your offer of help. The reference for the 1881 cencus is RG 11/3599 page 14.
The 4 children were admitted to the Workhouse 31/12/1889 from 4/10 Kew Street by older sister Catherine. 3 went on to Kirkdale School, the little one to a Convent possibly.
The possible death for the Father is Coroners Inquest but some details do not tally such as address.

Hi Simone
One I missed as the baptism for Julia at St Anthonys give her birth 20/05/1885 baptised 03/06/1885 at 18 Wright Street Could the Priest have written the wrong year I am now wondering? I think I will go back to the GRO records. Thank you for opening another door.
Off Topic - MaryA There was a pub lunch for 24 YOUNG ladies and I think we did her proud.
