Thanks, Blue, for filling me in on the Stanley/West Derby issue and following-up who was living at the Stanley addresses - much appreciated. The names of the people living at the Stanley addresses don't ring any bells but I'll store them away for future reference. You never know...! (Sorry I assigned one of your contributions to Mary- hope neither of you were offended!)

Bert: Esher Road was where J.F. died in 1941 so interesting to know he had moved out of the laundry some time before.
I had noticed the photos on the Ancestry tree and have contacted the owners to ask how they came to have them. I noticed a couple of the trees give J.F.'s parents as being James and Margaret while I am pretty certain they were James and Sarah Ann so I just want to make sure sources have been checked.
It would be great if they were photos of the right J.F. - I've got very few photos of my ancestors and even a photo of a '1st cousin 2x removed' would be appreciated!

Thanks again.

I wonder if I could impinge on generosity one more time?

The 1901 census has James Frederick Forrest at Boaler Street with his father but I cannot make out James's occupation: 'cotton bespoke......?' Can any of you make it out and if so know what the job would involve? You access the record using Fredk Forrest d.o.b. 1883.

Thanks, Dickiesam. I'm not very good at deciphering some of the writing!
