Help to Read address please

Post by MaryA »

Henry (Barrow) Johnson married Eliza Emily Dewar in 1878 at St Mary's Kirkdale. His occupation has been given variously as Mariner and Sea Captain, perhaps this marriage certificate might give the first clue we have to his career but I can't make out the ship's name in his address, apparently berthed in Sandon Dock. Anybody have any ideas about it please?

Could it be Wiseman! Seems an unlikely name for a ship so I'm probably wrong :D
There was a SS Wisconsin which sailed from Liverpool to New York in 1888, will look into that ship at bit more.

There's various certificates/documents on Ancestry be sure to keep clicking on the next page until you've collected all the images. The ship Wisconsin is mentioned on one of the documents.

I have to admit that, before I read any other replies, I thought it was "Wisconsin"
