I'm Proud

Post by MaryA »

My internet went down for an hour this morning - blast I thought, but gave me time to open my copy of the Family Historian, our Journal, just arrived in the post.

Within the first dozen pages there were mentions of our Marie, who has given verbal bouquets to us all here on our wonderful forum and also the Help Desks we host, details below for any of our forum members who have not yet had the opportunity to come and meet us.

Another thanks given to our Hilary and Vic for clarifying a confusing point about the parish of Walton on the Hill and again our very own Dickiesam for providing an insightful answer to a problem posed in a previous Journal.

There may be other mentions or articles that I haven't yet read, sorry if I have missed anybody, but wanted to just tell you that our Forum is the best and I'm proud of you all. :D (wish there was a smilie that said "Proud")

Help desks
Liverpool Central Library Floor 3, every Tuesday 1.30 – 4.00
The Atkinson Southport every Saturday, 10.30 – 13.00
Formby Library 1st Tuesday of the month, 10.30 – 12.30

Edit to add: Journal just arrived! I am in print! Oh golly, Miss Molly... :D
And well deserved great commendations to the people who dutifully man the Forum Help Desks in the various locations.

 I'm somewhat embarrassed to be included within such esteemed company for my small effort, however it must be said that the real heroes of the forum 'gang' are those who tirelessly volunteer each week to man the help desk.
Blessed with the patience of the Saints they forward the cause weekly, for no reward other than the occasional "Thanks". They all have dual roles within the society and just where would we all be without them performing those duties also ?.
Yep,and undoubtedly without a paddle !
DickieSam,Blue70, Daggers and Hilary have all been more than helpful in my own journey of discovery and MaryA and Kathy D have helped enormously in my "lateral thinking".
You really deserve medals but plaudits will have to suffice. :)
Very well deserved and I am pleased that Marie has made her opinions known.
Interested in Ellison, Roberts, Riley, Raffells, Newman, Klosser, Butler, Carroll, Hough,Ruffe & McCallister.

Now you have me embarrassed

But many may not be aware of the huge project Vic is undertaking which at the culmination of it all should be of enormous value to those searching for a grave in Walton Parochial Cemetery, almost an impossibility at present.

As I said, credit goes to ALL our gang on the forum, without you there would be a lot of people with queries that would never get resolved.

I'm collecting the extra copies of the journal from the printer on Wednesday so it'll be after that when one will be sent to you! Just so you don't expect it too soon.

Hi Mary,
Sorry to be a pain but my journal seems to have gone astray this month as well.
Thought it must have been in the pile of stuff that arrived when we were away but have finally got round to checking and there was no sign.
I'd be grateful if you would pass on to the appropriate person.
Many Thanks
Chris

I'm assuming that Erika's has been sent out separately to the main bulk of them, Daisycakes, will check if yours has also been sent but please let us know if it arrives. Chris, will also pass on your details.
