Alcavtay has been trying to bring some of these posts up to date and I feel she deserves more recognition for collecting all this information together for the Memorial, so I would like to welcome her as Moderator for the St Cyprian, Edge Hill - Memorial Board and thank her for her help.

Whilst posting I would also like to thank all of our forum members for their help on this project and hope you will continue with your efforts.

Thank you MaryA! I'm going to be combing through the information and pulling it together to identify where we need further research. Thanks to everyone who has contributed we've got an amazing amount of information here and it's going to create a really excellent resource about the memorial.

Just so everyone is aware I am in the process of putting together the Roll of Honour for St Cyprians. I had lightly researched the memorial many years ago (pre-internet) and the aim now is to pull together all of the available information to produce a CD for the FHS to sell - all proceeds going to FHS. The format is identical to that in my recent book on the Liverpool Pals.

It has not proceeded as quickly as I had hoped as my wife has been ill, however my initial rough draft runs to almost 200 pages and I have recently submitted the first 50 pages to Alcavtay for comment. I have already invested significantly in downloading a sizeable number of relevant War Diaries from the NA.

I was christened in St Cyprians and attended the local school in Clint Rd, as did some of the men listed on the memorial panels.

So if any member has the time to carry out Quality Control of my text and content please let me know - many hands make light work!

Brilliant idea to share some of the load, and who better to bring in?

It is good the hear about the progress that is being made.
