Dear Forum
Please forgive me if I have posted this message within the wrong area of this forum. However, I am a novice to this site and am very eager to seek any advice and/or information as to how one may access a military photograph of my Ancestor namely; Robert James Pickavance who served in the Boer War and the Great War. I have his Attestation Papers and information pertaining to his Medals but sadly, I do not have any photographs of him to treasure. Pvt RJ Pickavance served in the 7th Lancers, 5th Dragoon Guards and The Army Service Corp. The Pickavance family originated from 4-7 Court Roscoe Lane, Liverpool and his parents names were: James Pickavance and Margaret nee Pritchard. If anyone is connected to this family or knows about this particular branch of the Pickavance Tree - it would be such a pleasure to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to read the above.
Kind regards Suzieq08

Hi and welcome to the forum. I haven't come across photographs in any Army papers, so perhaps you are right in looking for other descendants who just might have treasures passed down.

Hi Suzieq08,
From the 1891 census it would appear that Robert had at least 8 siblings. Have you been able to trace any after the 1911 census? His brother William was also a soldier. Did William marry?
