An odd name

Post by russellci »

Can you think of anything? My g'g'g'grandmother (1777-1851)
1841 Liverpool "Primelen" Marks (I) (wrong age) married to John Marks (S). Has a granddaughter "Primelia".
1851 John has died and Primellen becomes Premelia, age 72, living off Seamans Relief Fund.
1851 December she is buried as Pamela, death cert. 'widow of John Marks, Mariner'
That is ALL I know about her: does anybody have any suggestions as to how I could find out her surname, or where/when she was married. I can just about prove daughters Catherine, Ruth, Jane (says born Newry, not sure this is correct), Isabella and Mary (my g'g'grandmother) but she must have had more daughters, some sons?
Do I give up and admit to being the g'g'g'granddaughter of orphans, Primelen ?? and John Marks?
I would so love to take this further and thought just maybe you would have some ideas.
Just back from the WDYTYA show at Olympia: it was good but ..
Best to all
