Hi All,
Has anyone else lost the search History facility from their Ancestry Homepage.
Its been there that long I can't remember the proper name for it, one part of it allowed you to revisit documents found, the other part allowed you to go back and search without retyping all the info again, which is what I'm having to do now, it was on the homepage, bottom right,
Its not the shoebox, if you still have it, can you tell me the heading in case I have to get in touch with them.
Thank you.

Re: Ancestry Search History
Hi bertie
Just checked my ancestry and it's gone from mine as well. Not sure what the official name for it was, but it was where it remembered all your recent searches and names wasn't it.
Be interested to hear if it's a blip or something more serious

Thanks Erika,
at least its not just me, perhaps they are doing something to the site, hopefully it will return soon.

Re: Ancestry Search History
If like me you are still choosing to use the Old Search, then I don't think it's on there, so go to the New Search, link top right-ish of the page, and scroll down below the form to enter your search details and there is just one line across with Recent Searches, mine just shows four names that I have searched. But above the line, on the right is a button +See More. This should show you what you want.

Re: Ancestry Search History
Seems to be working again now. For future reference the section is called Recent Activity, so you should be ok now Bert

Re: Ancestry Search History
Replying to those having trouble with Ancestry. You have a great number of fellow sufferers, believe me. If you want to see the current crop of troubles, go to Ancestry's facebook page. That is also a page you can post the problem and, perhaps, get some help.
Re: Ancestry Search History
It seems that whenever I want to use the site lately, I can't. Different functions don't work, and last night it was off altogether. I find Ancestry useful for researching my Manchester family but am starting to wonder if my subs would be put to better use elsewhere.

Re: Ancestry Search History
I had a few difficulties yesterday evening too, strangely I switched browsers and whether it was coincidence that it came back at that time I don't know, but I was able to continue with what I was doing then.
It's so useful for Lancashire that I would hate to do without it, but another subs is becoming quite enticing as I have done a lot in Cheshire recently.
