Yes Simone, that's the same Daisy. The address was 30 Lower Marsh in London (near where the London Eye is now I believe).
To Tina: Gertrude Stackhouse married Herbert Thorn (Daisy's dad) in '42 - that was about four years after he was widowed; she was previously his employee...

To All: May I presume it is has now been conclusively determined that there is no Liverpool marriage record on file for Daisy and Joe for the relevant time?
Not one that many pairs of eyes can find anyway, not just Liverpool but England.
Well then, either they were never married, or perhaps married at sea??? They were together until Joe died in the late 60's or early 70's I believe it was.
Going to look for Passenger records as you suggested - also going to search marriages in Toronto - a long shot perhaps, but you just never know...
there's a Daisy Murrell on Canadian Passenger lists arriving North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Unfortunately I don't have a full sub to look at it

Well thanks everyone for helping to look for a marriage that may or may not have taken place - turns out it is likely the latter. I can't explain why this issue feels rather like an itch I can't scratch, but I'll keep trying to work out what happened.
The family name change from Murrell to Thorn may or may not be at issue here - we know they began using the surname Thorn at least as early as the 1911 census, but it wasn't officially changed until September 1913 after Daisy was already in Canada, had adopted Joseph Parry's surname (whether officially through marriage or otherwise), and had a child. As we have already seen from her daughter's Toronto birth registration Daisy's maiden name was given as Thorn.
So far I haven't been able to find relevent passenger records for Daisy and Joe, but they obviously got to Canada somehow, and later returned to the U.K. with their daughter. I also haven't had the time to find any ancestral information on our 'Uncle Joe' - as I mentoned earlier, there were too many Joseph Parrys to sift through. I suspect that will be my task for next weekend.
