Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
Looked down all Harrisons in Manchester with relationship Inmate, but nothing showing up that could be the children of Gertrude. Looking like a visit to Manchester archives needed there, to check the Admissions and Discharges for Gertrude and see if any children were with her.

Fairly sure that isn't the child we seek....Bertieone wrote:Gertrude Emily Harrison, "England, Manchester, Miscellaneous Records, 1700-1916"MaryA wrote:Link not working for me Bert, can you post the details please.

Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
Another kind person with an Ancestry sub found the record of Gertrude snr's death in the Andrews index. The informant was Fred Silvester, son-in-law. Working backwards from this revealed the marriage between Gertrude Emily and Fred Silvester, Gertude Emily's death in 2002 and her birth in 1907. I have sent off for the relevant certificates (principally for the extra info that I hope they will provide) but the likelihood of this not being Gertrude and Edward's daughter is virtually nil, I think!dickiesam wrote:Re:Birth: HARRISON, Gertrude EmilyUpdate on missing Harrison children: it appears that there was at least one who survived: Gertrude Emily HARRISON, b 10.6.1907 and who only died (as Gertrude Emily SILVESTER) in 2002!
Registration district: West Derby
Year of registration: 1907; Sep qtr
Volume no: 8B; Page no: 453
Where did that information come from?
If you have an Ancestry sub, please could you (very kindly) look and see whether Gertrude Emily left a will?
(I am trying to activate a trial of Ancestry but it's not working at the moment and though I've given them my payment details twice it keeps going around in a loop and asking for them again!)
Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
Well, there's a thought. Anything's possible - though if that is her, I wonder what she would have been doing all the way over in Manchester (where I am not aware of any family connections). Shame there's no age. Is there any mre detail to be had? - and is it possible to find whether there were any other Harrison sibs admitted at the same time?Bertieone wrote:MaryA wrote:Link not working for me Bert, can you post the details please.

Thank you so much for taking an interest, I really appreciate it.
Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
I found their marriage on FindMyPast (tracking back from the fact that Fred Sylvester, son-in-law, was apparently the informant at Gertrude Snr's death) and have now sent off for the cert.MaryA wrote:I notice that the St Athanasius records are not available on Ancestry, did you find their on marriage online database or order the certificate?
Have you checked the baptisms for the same church and also any around the Walton Breck Road area on microfiche to see if there are any recorded?
Would St Athanasius be the right church? I never know which one to look in as there are so many in that part of Liverpool and my family seem to have mixed and matched which ones they used! I haven't checked them on microfiche yet - I guess that would involve a trip to Liverpool, which I have done many times previously in the course of this quest, but not recently as it is a full day's outing from here and I also work most days. But I think I feel a trip to Liverpool coming on ...
Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
Hmmm - no, this extra info does make it unlikely, I agree. Sigh!dickiesam wrote:Fairly sure that isn't the child we seek....Bertieone wrote:Gertrude Emily Harrison, "England, Manchester, Miscellaneous Records, 1700-1916"MaryA wrote:Link not working for me Bert, can you post the details please.

I have The Genealogist membership (and am happy to reciprocate all this wonderful help, if I can!)lynne99 wrote:The Genealogist will let you search for a family by groups of names. I don't have it, but someone must/. You can get a 14 day free trial - might help

Were you thinking that I could put Gertrude Emily in for 1911 census and see who else appears? Good idea ... will report back ...
Re: GASKELL/HARRISON/ABELE/MANLEY/GREEN
Nah ... found a couple of 'grandchildren' who initially looked promising but far too many discrepancies to claim them ...Maria wrote:I have The Genealogist membership (and am happy to reciprocate all this wonderful help, if I can!)lynne99 wrote:The Genealogist will let you search for a family by groups of names. I found the marriage on here http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ which gives the church.
