CWGC:
EDWARDS, A S, Rank: Captain, Date of Death:14/05/1918
Service: Royal Air Force, 30 Sqdn.
Grave Reference, XVIII. E. 14., Cemetery:BAGHDAD (NORTH GATE) WAR CEMETERY.

MIC: British War Medal, Victory Medal, 1915 Star (entered France 24/7/1915). Previously in Liverpool Regiment and Machine Gun Corps. Forenames: ARTHUR STROTHER. His father, R Edwards, applied for the medals in 1920 from 1, Grampion Road, Edge Lane.

National Archives index shows his officer's records for army and RAF service, but without visiting, it is impossible to say if they have survived - many have been deleted but remain indexed.

ADDED: London Gazette shows his promotion from temp. Lieutenant to temp. Captain in May 1916 (Liverpool Regt), his transfer to Machine Gun Corps in August 1916 then to Royal Flying Corps in October 1917.
