Soldiers Died in the Great War shows enlistment in Liverpool. He had served in the Manchester regiment, no 63186, before the Northumberland Fusiliers.
His MIC shows his entitlement to the Victory and British War Medals.

To confirm the family in 1911, living at 38 Bremner Street, Fred 44, a Dock Labourer, born Luton, Bedfordshire and his wife Isabella 35, have been married for 13 years and have three surviving children out of four. George 11, Ada 9 and Edward Frederick 2, everybody except father Fred born Liverpool.
