Searching for a burial location

Post by suzyemm »

I am trying to locate a burial location for my 2x great grandfather. His name was Levy Jacobs (b.1826) who died 5th November 1874, at Greenwood Street, Everton.
I have searched many places but cannot find any record of his burial. He was born Jewish but married out of the faith, so I expect he was not considered Jewish. There is no record of him at the Deane Road Jewish cemetery.
His wife was buried at Toxteth Park.

For that date Anfield Cemetery is a good candidate Everton Cemetery hadn't been established yet. The Toxteth Cemetery website are currently transcribing the Anfield burial records they have the general (unconsecrated) records for 1874 but he is not there. He could have been buried in a C of E (consecrated) section at Anfield but these records are not yet available on the website:-

Hi Blue, that's helpful. Thanks. I wonder what sort of timeframe before they get to complete the Anfield records?

I'm afraid we have to be patient when waiting for additional records on such as site as it is worked on by volunteers unlike Ancestry or Findmypast, but in case any of those volunteers ever read this message - Very well done so far and we appreciate your work enormously!

During your visit later in the year hopefully you would be able to find the entries you want at the Record Office, the microfilm for Anfield cemetery is held there as are many others.
