I had a look at the 1881 census and could find no George Brown in Wavertree. I checked for Browns in Wavertree. In 1891 I came across this family

37 Waterloo St Wavertree
James Brown 50 plasterer born Wavertree
Ann Jane wife 46 born Wavertree
George F son 15 born India Scatapore
David son 8
Charles and Richard children born Wavertree

to you all !
hopeless at this I am.

wow!! all this information.

lots and lots of information. you are 'stars' thank you all.

where and how can I obtain copies of these marriage certificates?

I also think the deaths are the correct ones! Frances came down to Salisbury to my husbands mothers second wedding. Again, where can I obtain a copy of death certificates?

I also think now there were a little untruths with the my husbands grandparents. evidently she was 'upper crust posh'ish' and ran away from her religious family!
(my husbands ex wife told me this as well.)
Big Appreciation from moonraker
can I print any of your responses?
a real beginner me. moonraker xx

There's a death for an Arthur Brown aged o in West Derby 1912, and a death of an Alice Brown aged 11 in 1914 also in West Derby district.

Just found the James and Ann Jane of my post above in 1881

Rathbone Road Wavertree
James Brown 40 bn West Derby
Jane A wife 35 bn Weest Derby
Elizabeth daur 15 bn West derby
James 7 son bn Calcutta
Alice 10 Campore
Joseph son 5 bn Lutapore
George F son 4 months born West Derby

I think what happened in 1891 was the enumerator Wrote George instead of Joseph giving the age and place of birth correctly but then ommitted George because he thought he'd done him.

So a George F Brown born end of 1880 would seem to be the correct one

You need to get the 1914 marriage cert, John is described as half brother to George, Army records, Howard may not be Frances maiden name but her first marriage name, cert should tell, plus fathers names.

We've seen this before where a woman has listed how long she has been married but not necessarily to the man she is living with at time of 1911 census.
Frances could have been married for 7 yrs to someone else, which would encompass the time of her kiddies births, in Ellesmere Port or have not been married at all??
Geo F is spelt as Boring, clearly is Brown, error sent to Anc
