John Gunning Fazakerley

My latest project is researching the above named, who was born on the 28th October 1897, the son of John and Mary Fazakerley. John snr ran a book binding business.

John jnr, joined the 6th Liverpool Regiment on the 16th October 1911( he was given the number 1227) and went to France with his battalion on the 24th February 1915. He was wounded on the 9th August 1916 and having recovered, was recommended for a Commission. Further sevice with the 12th Battalion KLR followed until he was wounded for a second time on the 20th November 1917 at Cambrai; he suffered from perforated ear drums as a result of a tank firing its 6 pounder gun immediately behind him.

I would be most grateful if anyone could advise me if there are any reports on John jnr. in the local papers.

Re above quote: Just did a browse for any mention of a John Fazakerly in the North West's newspapers 1914 to 1920 but only found 2 hits referring to his father:

The other one, also Liverpool Echo, was from a former employee seeking work following the death of John senior.

Thank you to everyone who has posted on this topic. Jon jnr, trained as a book binder and I wonder if he carried on in the business?

I am hoping to find mention of him in the 12th Battalion War Diary and will post again if I locate anything.
