I looked at this earlier and I'm still searching for an explanation,

The only marriage I could find, John Banks and Agnes Mary was 1908 West Derby,
John William Banks, Agnes Mary Redhead.

Soldiers Effects, John Banks, 41727. Widow, Agnes Mary.

1911 census, RG14 P22384,

Thomas Tarbuck
Hannah Tarbuck
John William Banks, 1889, Liverpool, Foster Son.
Agnes Mary Banks
Florence Hannah Banks, 1, Liverpool.

It appears that this combination, Banks/Redhead had children up to 1923.

Agnes Mary Banks married Joseph P Lane, March Qtr, 1925, West Derby, 8b 633,

1938 Directory has Joseph Lane, living at 87 Hartnup St, same address as Agnes when John Banks died.

Assuming the CWGC entry is correct and information from Soldiers effects, it appears Agnes Mary had children after John Banks death in 1917, Christina, 1920, Margaret, 1923 and chose to use the Banks name.

She went on to have 4 children with Joseph Lane. 1926/31
