Passenger lists-Ancestry

Last week a visitor to our help desk was looking for a relative who was supposed to have left Liverpool on the Carpathia 10th November 1903 for America. A search under surname drew a blank as did a search under 10th November 1903, I decided to carry out a keyword search for Carpathia 1903. The nearest match I got was for the Carpathia picking up passengers 11th November 1903 from Queenstown, Ireland. There was a passenger list dated 21st November 1903 for the Carpathia which got me thinking "how can the Carpathia sail from Liverpool 10th November 1903 get to America and back and sail again on the 21st November 1903." Upon looking at the original list it quite clearly states 10th November 1903, because the list is in a box of other ships dated 21st November 1903 the powers that be at Ancestry have assumed that all those passenger lists are for passengers that left Liverpool 21st November 1903. So anyone looking for a list be aware of this.
