Both names were recorded on his headstone.

I've only had a quick look at his records but it seems he enlisted as Kent, deserted and re-enlisted under the false name Wilson, his statement on the matter said that he was keen to get to the front and his regiment didn't seem likely to go so he joined another. Given his keenness to serve they dispensed with the trial and he stayed with the rifles. He died of wounds 69 days after the order was given that he would continue to serve with the K.R.R.C.
