Notices in the Echo show that he died of pneumonia at Toxteth military hospital and had a 'military funeral' at Holy Trinity Church, Wavertree. Parents' address was Chestnut Grove, Wavertree.
This doesn't rule out St Cyprian's though as he may have had a relative who was a member of the congregation there.

Not in CWGC. Could he be the James Cooper who died in 1918, reg'd West Derby 8b/540? Age does not match though.
