This would seem to be the entry in the Soldiers who died in the Great War, gives a clue for birthplace.

In 1911 at 47 Denman Street, Kensington
Joseph Povey 44 Bricklayer, wife Hannah 45, married 22 years, two children surviving out of three, Walter 21 Factors Clerk and William Henry 18 Apprentice Brass Finisher, all born Chester, Cheshire.
