Won't repeat the background information given on the St Helens Memorial, but just this little bit that shows, I believe, how he came to be commemorated on the St Cyprian's Memorial.

In 1911 living at 62 Cotswold Street, Holt Road, Liverpool E was Joseph Wilson 43, Foreman, Sanitary Engineering Goods, Principally Lead Manufacture, born Workington, Cumberland and his wife Frances 44, born Flimby, Cumberland, who have been married 21 years with no children, and his father (Ernest's father also), widowed 65 year old retired builder born Aspatria, Cumberland, his sister Mary Evelyn 25 born Maryport, Cumberland and his nephew John Whinn Cartney 8 born Workington, Cumberland.
