Private Joseph Bingham Hodgson, KLR, aged 19, and the eldest son of Mr and Mrs R Hodgson, 42, Brae-Street, Liverpool, has been killed in action. At the time of joining he was employed by the Liverpool Co-operative Society, Ltd. and was a prominent member of St Cyprian's Church, Edge Hill. (photo)

Born 18 January 1897, baptised 8 February 1897 at St Peters, Joseph Bingham Hodgson son of Richard and Sarah Ann of Battersby Street, occupation Postman.
Parents were married at St Mary, Edge Hill Q1 1896 Richard Hodgson and Sarah Ann Bingham.
In 1911 Joseph wasn't at home with his parents Richard 48, Postman in the General Post Office, born Kirby Lonsdale, Westmorland, and Sarah Ann 42, Fleet Fen Lincolnshire, had been married 15 years and had three surviving children out of four. Harry Bingham 12 school and Samuel Henry 7, both born Liverpool.
In 1911 John Bingham 70 is a widower Pensioner Farm Labourer born Fleet, Lincolnshire, with his children Elizabeth 25, and Eliza 48 and grandson Leonard Bingham 4 and grandson Joseph Hodgson 14 a Farm Labourer.
