This soldier's service papers survived.

medals etc were dispatched to his mother Mrs Hannah Hancock, 8 Cotswold St, Kensington (1919) a few streets away from St Cyprian's.

HANCOCK-In loving remembrance of my dear son's 21st birthday. Private H. I. Hancock, who was killed in action December 29 1916, aged 20.

Gone is the face we loved so dear,
Silent is the voice we long to hear.

From his sorrowing Mother, Douglas and Maud, 8, Cotswold Street.
