Son of the late John Russell Dalgleish and Margaret Bruce Dalgleish. Born at Edinburgh. Brother of Mrs. E. Cooper, 44, Stamford Street
James was reported as Wounded and missing in Action, he was officially declared as having been Previously missing now reported by the German Government killed or Died of Wounds.
I think this means that the German soldier's came upon him in the Battle Field and retrieved his Identity disc which was then forwarded to the British Government.
