From the Wrecks website:
Clangula was a 1,754grt British Merchant ship. On the 19th November 1917 when 4 miles SW ¾ W from Hartland Point, North Devon, England she was torpedoed without warning and sunk by submarine. 15 lives lost including Master.

I think that the port of registration should read 'COrk', not CUrk.

An in Memorian notice published Liverpool Echo 19th November 1918.

COMERFORD; In sad but loving memory of my dear husband, cook S.S Clangula, who lost his life through his ship being torpedoed November 19 1917 (Sadly missed by his wife, relatives and friends)

His Brother in law was also Killed.
