Re: Corporal Joseph Thomas Clucas
Did anyone watch the Antiques Roadshow last night (22 March), from the Metropolitan Cathedral?
Cpl Joseph Clucas's Memorial Plaque was returned to members of his family, including our ex-city councillor Fo Clucas, who is now living in Gloucestershire. It was an emotional moment when a collector, based in the Isle of Man, appeared with the plaque in what was clearly an unrehearsed action.
I am in touch with her and may be able to post photos of Cpl Clucas later. Incidentally some of his service record has survived and can be seen on Ancestry. He joined the TF in 1909 as a schoolboy of 14, in 3rd West Lancashire Brigade, RFA, which was then based in Admiral Street and his address when he attested was 268 Kensington. The family were at 81 Cotswold Street, Holt Road, at the time of his death.

Hi Daggers
I'll have to watch it on catchup - I'll pm you with the info we've pulled together so you can pass it on to Cllr Clucas.

Re: Corporal Joseph Thomas Clucas
You know, I did see it and thought it was lovely that he was giving it back to the family, just hadn't realised he was one on our memorial!!
