In 1911 Edward was 19, a labourer in a biscuit factory born Liverpool, living at 38 Holdsworth Street, Kensington, living with his widowed Aunt, Catherine W Boardman and her children Thomas 20, Elizabeth E 18, Henry J 16 and Margaret A 14, everybody born Liverpool.

I believe Edward's parents were Amy E Thompson who married Thomas Kirkpatrick in 1881 at Kirkdale, St. Mary. In 1901 she was 41 living at 36 Fonthill Road, Kirkdale with her sons Thomas 13 and Edward J 8. Amy Ellen Kirkpatrick died in 1909.
