The Irish Famine" , Author - Peter Gray, ISBN 978-0-500-30057-2, Pub. by Thames & Hudson.
A little gem of a book I picked up in a charity shop, being the size of a small paperback with almost 200 pages full of facts and answers to many questions I had about the conditions in which my Irish ancestors came here to the UK, and why they moved around till they found a life for themselves.
I am sure that any American with Irish heritage who wants to really understand their history and accept that it didn't just start at Ellis Island should get this book.
Packed with excellent, historical illustrations of the times and well worth obtaining for reference, especially if you can get it for coppers at a boot sale or something.
