This certainly takes you on the River Mersey's journey from its beginning where the rivers Goyt and Tame merge at Stockport. It travels 70 miles before reaching the The Irish Sea. It flows freely past beaches, and into docks,and over the Mersey Tunnels, past wonderful buildings and all manner of places.Each place is well described together with nostalgic photographs . Even has a little mention of folklore and King Canute. 
A good read on winter evening.
