"Merseyside's War" by Mike Benbough-Jackson

Post by daggers »

This book was published in 2015 by Amberley at £14.99 in what may be a series , Voices of the First World War. It has 224 pages, paperback with plenty of illustrations.

The author's introduction includes the following:
"...brings together numerous accounts drawn from diaries, parliamentary debates, letters, newspapers, local histories, local government records, oral histories, biographies and autobiographies."

This book differs from most of those published about the conflict as its focus is on the war as it affected many aspects of life on Merseyside, and only a little on the action at the fighting fronts.
It is a useful addition to our local history.
