Hi All
I am researching John Faulkner WILLIAMS, MM. Who was born in Squares/Squires Street in July 1898, to John and Helen(Mclelland).
He served with 3rd West Lancs Brigade RFA between November 1915 and March 1919. His No was 686480 and his MM appears in the London Gazette 1/8/1918. He was a driver at the time but finished the war as
Signal L/Bdr.
Nothing appears on Ancestry apart from the medal card which doesn't show his MM only the usual service medals. After the War he joined the Police and served until his retirement in 1945. Part of his beat during WWII was as a bike rider in the docks area.
What is missing is the citation for his MM and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to a possible newspaper entry or if someone has copiled an index of Gallantary medals won by Liverpool Soldiers
Diolch yn Fawr/Many Thanks
Best Regards
