Hi, just thought I would let anyone know who has ancestors in the grave yard, that I have been up there over Christmas and all the weeds have been cut down. :D :D

You can easily get to all the graves now, while there, two elderly ladies could be seen cutting back the growth. At last someone taking care of the place.

Happy hunting

Thanks for the info.
My dad said he used to play in the churchyard as a lad and was quite disturbed when he found a grave stone with his name on it!!

Can you confirm if there are any CWGC graves in the cemetery?

Thanks

Farnworth Chapel - MIs ?

My gt gt grandmother Margaret Abbott (b abt 1802) was buried at 'Farnworth Chapel' 18 Dec 1848 (died age 46). Her husband William Abbott (watchmaker) was her second husband, the first being (unknown forename) Hewitt.

I need to check the grave MI, either directly or via MI transcripts (if such exist).

Questions:
Are there any MI transcripts for this graveyard?
Is 'Fanworth Chapel' the same place as 'St Wilfrid's Farnworth Chapel' ? (If so, I could probably take a day off to drive to lancashire).
