Good morning,
I’m looking for any forces records regarding Reginald Frederick Harper b.1907
I know he had medals but the family have lost them
I’d like to make a duplicate set but need to know which they are.

Thanks
Paul

If you have details of Reginald Harper's service (eg his service number and regiment) you may be able to obtain details of his medals directly from the Medal Office, without first having to pay to obtain his service history. Details of how to do this here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/medals-camp ... ligibility

Regarding Andy's suggestion above, I applied last year to the RAF to enquire if my uncles medals had been claimed at the time of his death. Took a while but eventually we heard that they had and we were happy that our grandparents must have had them in their possession. For this knowledge there was no charge and I would suspect the Army would give similar advice.

A useful summary by the Imperial War Museum of some military record resources, here

A word of caution about the IWM summary. The Brigade of Guards records are no longer held by the regiments, but are with the rest of the army. There may be other changes, too.
