Town Hall Roll of Honour
Town Hall Roll of Honour
There are six names on the WW1 Roll of Honour who served in King Edward's Horse. This was a little-known part-time unit which had a squadron in Liverpool in the years leading up to 1914, mostly recruited from men with connections in the dominions or colonies. The squadron had been part of the Yeomanry but was moved to the Special Reserve.
Liverpool directories listed the unit with a local HQ at Church Street, but a website on its origins states that they trained at the LIverpool Scottish HQ - Fraser Street. The local commanding officer was Walter Bancroft Pearch [can anyone find his civilian occupation?]
If anyone can add more I should be glad to hear from them.
The names on the TH Roll of Honour are:
Heeley, JE [or EJ]
Jackson, PS
Lewis, W
Miller, GA
Gabrielsen, M
Pritchard, HQ.

Thanks very much for all that detail. I had not been to tie in W Lewis, but with a first name I can now go further.

Re: Town Hall Roll of Honour
Great information, as usual, and thanks again. Could you say where you found the C.O. Pearce was a stockbroker? I tried ANC and FMP without finding that. He did leave quite a sum!
