On my visits over the years to Landican Cemetary to visit my Late wife's Tree, I always pause at the grave side of Sergeant Cherry and reflect he died 26.June 1944 age 20 and think how lucky I am only 10 years younger and only did National Service (Rest in Peace)

Has anyone got any information on Sargent Cherry I would think he was local to be buried in Landican or was he at R.A.F. West Kirby or another local camp and there is a D. Highton a Wren I think on the war Memorial ?was she killed at sea
