Patrick Joseph Farrell

The above Royal/Merchant Navy seaman was supposed to have gone down on a ship that hit a mine in the North Sea in 1916. An article with a picture appeared in The Liverpool Catholic Herald dated April 1st 1916:-
PATRICK JOSEPH FARRELL
Who since the outbreak of the war had been serving in the Navy was 23 years of age. was formerly a scholar at Bishop Goss Schools, residing with his parents at 25, Rose Hill, Liverpool. He had been at sea for the past 8 years, six of which were spent on the Nelson Line steamers. Official information has been received that he went down with Mercantile Marine Auxillery Fannette which was sunk by a mine in the North Sea.-RIP
His parents are on the 1911 Census at 25, Rose Hill, however Patrick is not with them. He is on the 1901 Census at 25, Rose Hill as Joseph Farrell aged 8ys

Patrick Joseph was born 13th July 1892 and baptised at St. Joseph, son of Patrick and Mary Farrell (nee Browne) I have search Royal Navy and RNVR records and CWGC cant find anything for him under Patrick Joseph or Joseph. Can anyone help.
