John Joseph Brennan

Post by Katie »

I have the following obituary published in the Liverpool Echo December 16th 1916

BRENNAN-at 28, Springbourne Street, St. Michael's, in his 30th year, John Joseph, the beloved son of Katherine and the late James Brennan. Requiem Mass at St. Charles Church, Aigburth Road, on Tuesday next, 9 a.m/ (RIP, one of the first to answer the country's call)

John is listed on the war memorial at St. Charles, Aigburth and his rank is recorded as Chief Warrant Officer. I have searched the Royal Navy and Royal Naval Division records for his service papers with no luck.

His brother James F Brennan is also recorded on this memorial. Any ideas?

Thanks Bertie, that is his death registration. I have something in the Liverpool Catholic Herald for him, which I will look up later. I'll let you know what it says.

I can't find a baptism for the brother James Francis Brennan but the GRO has him born in Toxteth Park in 1882 with a mother with the same surname as the baptism at St Sylvester's, Nolan.
