Do you have records of Liverpudlians serving in the Cheshire Regiment during WW2 please?

I don't know that there are lists of those who served, except that Pension/Service Records, Medal Cards etc. may be available on Ancestry or Findmypast. Also if you knew whether he was killed or injured Katie might have an entry for him on her database collated from the entries from the newspapers. Perhaps we could help if we had some details of dates and names.

Have you tried getting in touch with the regiment itself or a veterans society.

Liverpool Scottish were a tremendous help to me when I was looking for details of my grandfather who served with them in WW2. They gave their time freely and, quite reasonably I thought, only asked for a donation of my choosing for their funds.

Hi there

Thank you for your replies. My cousin is looking for her grandfathers army records and I said I would try to help. I know he is no longer with us and his name was John James Evans. I will get back to her with your suggestions and suggest she calls into the library as she lives in Liverpool.

You need to apply to the MOD for WW2 service records. We've had a number of threads about this process in the past here's a brief one with some details:-
