William Ernest Mason-Killed?

I have a Roll of Honour notice published in the Liverpool Echo 1st October 1917
MASON-Reported missing October 18, now reported killed, William Ernest Mason, the dearly youngest son of the late Joseph and Jane Mason (late of Walton), and Husband of Florence Mason (nee Doran) of Stuart Road (late of Wellbrow Road, Queen's Drive.)
I have locate William Ernest and Florence on the 1911 Census at 34, Wellbrow Road
William Ernest Mason-24-Married-Shipping Clerk-Born Liverpool
Florence Mason-24-Married (2years) Born Liverpool.
William Ernest Mason married Mary Florence Doran 1908 WDRO-(I think Catholic)
I can't locate William Ernest prior to the 1911 census.
He was baptised at St. John Kirkdale 1887 son of Joseph and Jane Mason (Edmondson)
His siblings were Emily Florence bap 1890-St. John's, Ethel bap 1885 at St. John and Winifred bap St. Alphonsus 1883.
I can't locate a death for William Ernest.
There were 2 children registered for William and Florence
1. Eric Mason Sept qtr 1912
2. Elsie M Mason Sept qtr 1915
Any help in locating this soldier would be a great help.
