I came across the following report of a Tablet erected by the Courier and Express Companionship

I have located all but one on the 1911 census and they are Compositors. The only George Kane I can find is a Office Clerk

This plaque is most probably long gone, but it is nice to know one existed. Any one using the above information please ask.

The Courier and Express were taken over by the Daily Post and Echo Group. Any chance that someone on the current newspaper [part of Trinity Mirror Group, I think] knows anything about the tablet? I don't expect many now working will have used the old LDP building in Victoria Street, but an enquiry might trigger memories.
