William 1st. born Child of John & Catherine Highton (nee Dogherty ) He Joined the R.A. 19th Nov. 1885 a carter unmarried Age 19 and willing to serve for 12 Yrs. he was the son of my Gr Grandfather Grandad's eldest brother 1st Aug.1891 service extended to 12 yrs. 30 June 1897 re-engaged to complete service to 21 yrs. 16 Nov. 1906 discharged on completion of service Postings included

Altcar 1 Jan. 1833 John Bapt. 22 April 1837 Melling & George may be the son of John & Margaret b.27 Dec. 1811 bapt 26 Jan 1812 At Sephtonhe d. 1844 buried 19 Dec. at Melling his widow then M. Edward Elkin in 1851 can anyone confirm this Please ?
