I am looking for information on Jack Wade whose obituary appeared in the Liverpool Echo 31st Dec 1917

WADE-December 28 Killed on one of H.M. Patrol Ships, Jack-Deeply missed by all friends in Liverpool-Sadly missed by Nancy.

Jack Wade I think was born in Halifax.

There is a huge thread on Rootschat which has many posts about that vessel. This should give you a link to one of its many pages. You can read it and other pages without signing up, I think, and you may learn more about the crew members.

Also 1st Class Pilot Edgar Howard Lewis was not a fatality of the mining of the Alfred H Read. He died of Pneumonia 28th December 1917 at his sisters residence in Queens Drive.
