Try again

I am trying to sort out another WW1 soldier in my family tree his name is

William Carson
Died 15th November 1916 in Flanders
Enlisted in Bury, was a private in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment
10th Battalion
Number: 31806 although Formerly 40417, Lancs Fusiliers

I found him and his family in 1901 at Lovet Street with his mother and father
Alfred and Margaret Carson he is 3 and his date of birth is given as 1898

However in 1911 his date of birth is given as 1896

I am trying to establish if the soldier in Flanders in my relative William Carson.

I have found his brothers army record which confirms the family address at the time but cant for the life of me find William's

Would be grateful of some help

Many thanks

Sue

Private

I have no additional information for him as of yet, but it is a on going project and if there is anything in the paper it will be inserted next to his name

Hi Sue,
As a matter of interest the YoBs in 1911 for Harry and Ada, William's siblings, are also at variance with their YoBs in 1901. The father's YoB is also out by a couple of years. Since the YoB is calculated from the age given on the Household Summary Form when being transcribed I would bet the ages given are slightly out due to parent error.
