WW1 - three brothers named Wilson killed in action.

A memorial - not CWGC - in Toxteth Park Cemetery named John, William and Alfred Wilson as having been killed in action. From other details on the stone, their father was also John, and mother named as simply 'M.E.'
Help need in trying to trace their army or navy details, please.

Here is the full inscription, in case I have interpreted the inscriptions wrongly:
Sacred to the memory / of / Mary Shankland, / wife of William THOMPSON, / who died 11th January 1875, / aged 69 years. / And was interred / in Morton Church-yard, Dumfriesshire. / Also of Martha, / the beloved wife of John THOMPSON, / who died 29th April 1993, / aged 62 years. / Also John, / beloved husband of M. E. WILSON, / who died 6th Sept. 1925, / aged 62 years. / Also of their sons / John, William, & Alfred. / Killed in action in the Great War.
